About this object
A collection of 30 letters to Empress Eugéne dated 1870-1871 as she was acting Regent - Napoleon has left Paris to fight the Franco Prussian war.
The Empress Eugénie kept religiously some of the letters from Napoléon and they are in the archives of the Prince Napoléon in Brussels (Jérome’s son).
The Prince gave permission to publish some of the letters written the day before and the day after Sedan.
